Brainerd Public Library

A new exhibition of artwork by Nichole Delafield is on view at the Brainerd Public Library through September. The exhibit includes 14 pieces of watercolor prints and one mixed-media acrylic artwork.

Delafield has been an art teacher for 25 years and she shares her love for art through private lessons, summer camps and elementary school programs. She is a guide at the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Florida.

Her work includes fine art with pastels, watercolors and acrylics. She also enjoys sharing her love of art and design through her hand-painted silks. Design work for women includes clothing and accessories featuring these distinctive pieces.

Delafield graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in fashion design. Her experience includes working in the design of wedding dresses, children’s clothing and women’s clothing under her own brand. Delafield sells her womenswear collection exclusively at Jarboe.

His works of art include nature studies in pastel, rendered with the soft richness of pastel chalk. Delafield’s fine works of art have been exhibited and sold in galleries and hung in private collections.

Writing is another form of expression for Delafield. “Gull Lake Memories: A Kayaking Adventure” is a travel journal and memoir sharing stories and paintings of the historic Brainerd Lakes region.
