Sony has unveiled its latest 5G compatible smartphone in the Xperia series, with a focus on what it calls professional imaging quality in an 8.9mm form factor.
The Sony Xperia PRO-I features a 1-inch imaging sensor with phase-detection autofocus, which the company claims offers improved low-light performance, high dynamic range, and various imaging options. depth of field.
Sony explained in a statement that the handset also comes with an advanced processor to deliver “unprecedented speed and improved picture quality” and is further enhanced by its Alpha brand mirrorless cameras.
The Xperia PRO-I comes with three lenses with Zeiss anti-reflective coating, reducing peripheral image distortion and increasing contrast.
Sony introduced the smartphone as the world’s first to enable 4K video at 120 fps. It also offers editing and sharing functions.
Yang Cheng, vice president of imaging solutions at Sony Electronics, said the company aims to “completely redefine imaging performance standards across our entire product line.”
Other features of the device include a 6.5-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and a tool with assist function and touch response suitable for games.
It runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chipset and is powered by a 4,500mAh battery. It also comes with 12 GB of memory along with 512 GB of storage.
The Sony Xperia PRO-I will be available in various markets in early December for € 1,799. The seller is also planning to release a companion Vlog Monitor accessory, priced at € 199.
